On July 2, 2007, Minister Wang Xudong of Ministry of Information Industry, Madam Hu Qiheng, Chairman of Internet Society of China and Deputy Secretary-general Tan Tieniu of Chinese Academy of Sciences visited CNNIC. With great interest, they visited CN domain name server room, monitoring room, office block and CNNIC decennial achievements exhibition, and heard the CNNIC work report by Mao Wei, the Director General of CNNIC.

    Minister Wang pointed out that the Internet played a significant role in the global economy and culture, and the domain name system was the infrastructure for the normal communication of the Internet, so it was required to improve the service performance of the domain name system and conduct an integrated planning on the software and hardware for CN domain name so as to ensure the sound and stable operation of Internet in China. On the premise of swift growth of .CN domain names, Minister Wang required CNNIC to keep improving its service level to better serve the netizens.

    Minister Wang confirmed CNNIC's contribution to the international communication. He said CNNIC should make use of its advantages to enhance the international communication and do more work for the construction of a harmonious Internet community.
