For maintaining the interests of the state and the society, protecting legal liabilities of individual citizens and corporations, ensuring a normal registration order, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) set the range for prohibited and restricted wireless keyword as follows:
1. Prohibited wireless keyword:
All words that violate the interests of the nation, the society and the public.
2. Restricted wireless keyword:
a) Some names of government institutions;
b) Some names of the national leaders;
c) Names related to national defense and military affaires;
d) Country codes listed in ISO3166 and corresponding Chinese names;
e) Full names and official abbreviations of the administration districts above city level in China;
f) Names of special signs or symbols set forced by Chinese laws and regulations, such as Olympic games’ related vocabularies;
g) Names of world culture heritages or natural heritages in China;
h) Names of general high educational institutions in China;
i) Names of famous enterprises, media and website in China.
Words in term 1 are prohibited to be registered, while names in term 2 are only available for organizations that have the right to use these names to register as wireless keywords.
The reservation range was set by hearing suggestions from legal experts. The detailed name list is developed based on authoritative documentations and name list from the authority.
