CNNIC Director General Dr. Mao Wei visited National Internet Development Agency of Korea (NIDA) in Seoul from Mar 7th to 9th. During his 3-day visit, CNNIC and NIDA has signed a MoU on long-term technology R&D cooperation to promote research and utilization on Internet addressing services for both China and Korea.
CNNIC and NIDA are registries for .CN and .KR ccTLD respectively, and carrying the mission of constructing the cyberinfrastructure in the two countries. Before signing this MoU, CNNIC and NIDA had along history of mutual collaboration in many aspects such as RFC proposal, Internet development survey and DNS service.
This MoU is signed based on the first “Naming Services Symposium” held in Xiamen by CNNIC and NIDA in Dec, 2006. Both parties believe this MoU will improve the understanding of each other and promote the further cooperation on Internet technology research.
