Research base on IPv6 domain name root server is one of the key tasks of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)’s “Knowledge Innovation Project”. On June 22, the research achievement had been successfully certified and accepted by expert group in Chongqing city. It indicates that China had mastered the key technology of self establishing, operating, maintaining and safeguarding the next generation Internet domain name root server. It will provide China with vigorous technical support for deploying the IPv6 network in a larger scale and for basic naming services.

The certify commission with the academician Wu hequan (the Vice President of Chinese Academy of Engineering) as the chair, noted that the achievement had reached international advanced level as a whole, while as for the fields of Internationalized domain name (Chinese domain name) and Keyword Internet address (Internet Keyword), it even achieved the world leading position.
