  1. Usage of IP address request form (IP Request Form):

The IP Request Form is used to prove whether the quantity of address requested by member is in conformity to the actual conditions or not. CNNIC will make careful verification on the Request Form. If the quantity of address requested by member is more than the "CNNIC allocation window", then CNNIC will submit the form to ANPIC for its verification.

    Attention:
The form must be filled in English.
  2. Description on details of filling-in for IP Request Form:
    • ACCT-NAME: CNNIC-CN

      Description:
With APNIC account number given, here CNNIC-CN is filled in.
      NETNAME:

      Description:
The abbreviation of the name of your network. This name will be stored in the database hereafter, to indicate your network. The number of character is less than 25. Moreover they are all in Capital form, without blank space intermediately.
      Sample example:
      netname: CSTNET

    • DESCR:
      Description:
Please use multi-lines of DESCR item (not more than 5 lines), to give the full name and address of your unit.
      Sample example:

    • Host-bits:
      Description:
The IP address quantity the user unit believes to be reachable one year after is filled in with this item in the form of host-bits. For example, filling in 8 indicates that the member unit believes the IP address quantity to be 2^8-2=254 one year after. The reason for -2 is because the address with all 0 and the address with all 1 can not be used for the allocation. When one numeral can not indicate the quantity demanded, multiple numerals can be used for the indication. For example: host: 13+14 indicates 96C.

    • COUNTRY: CN
      Description:
      Country code is given.

    • CONNECTIVITY:
      Description:
As for how you are connected into the Internet, you can fill in the several kinds as follows: SERVICE-PROVIDER (ISP type), PEERING-POINT (exchange center type), OTHER (other). If you are both of ISP and exchange center, please use two lines of COONECTIVITY for its description.
      Sample example:
      connectivity: SERVICE-PROVIDER

    • CONN-PROVIDER:
      Description:
The name of your upstream ISP is given. Namely, from where are you access the INTERNET? If you are of the type of exchange center, it is necessary for you to provide the network name of PEER in relation to you.
In addition, if you are of the type of network with multiple exits, please use multiple lines of CONN-PROVIDER to give the upstream ISP names.
      Sample example:
      conn-provider: SPRINT
      conn-provider: CHINANET
      conn-provider: CERNET
      conn-provider: GBNET

    • ALL-0S-SUBNETS:
      Description:
If the network can support the sub-network of all 1, then YES is filled in. If it can not support the sub-network of all 1, then NO is filled in, but under such conditions, the explanation of the reason is needed in the item "Additional Comments".
      Sample example:
      all-0s-subnets: YES

    • ALL-1S-SUBNETS:
      Description:
If the network can support the super-network (super-network means that multiple adjoining sub-networks can be expressed by the sole route item in the router in a concentrate way, with its main purpose to reduce the size for the route table), then YES is filled in. If it can not support the super-network, then NO is filled in., but under such conditions, the explanation of the reason is needed in the item "Additional Comments".
      Sample example:
      all-1s-subnets: YES

    • SUPERNETS:
      Description:
If the network can support the super-network (super-network means that multiple adjoining sub-networks can be expressed by the sole route item in the router in a concentrate way, with its main purpose to reduce the size for the route table), then YES is filled in. If it can not support the super-network, then NO is filled in., but under such conditions, the explanation of the reason is needed in the item "Additional Comments".

    • SUBNETS:
      Description:
If the network can support the sub-network division (sub-network division means that the various parts of one single route's prefix can divide the route), then YES is filled in. If it can not support the route, NO is filled, but under such conditions, the explanation of the reason is needed in the item "Additional Comments". Generally, Yes is filled in for this item.
      Sample example:
      subnets: YES

    • PORTABLE: NO
      Description:
Whether you agree with your customer to return the address you allocate to him or not, when your customer does not access the INTERNET from your network? CNNIC does not allow the terminal customer to bring the address, therefore PORTABLE: NO.
    • CUST-NETWORK:
      Description:
cust-network is used to describe the IP address section you allocate to your each user with special line. One cust-network item is the description on the address section of your each customer. If the address you are allocated can not be masked off with one masking code, then you can use multiple lines to express it.
The format for cust-network is shown as follows:
      cust-network: netname address mask hinit/h1yr/h2yr sinit/s1yr/s2yr date

      Description of single item:
netname (name of network) :name of the network for your user.
      Attention
The name must be written in English. If there is not suitable name, please use phonetic letter to fill in
Address (initial address):the initial address of the address section of the network for your user (for description of the network's name).
      Attention:Description with actual address
      mask
forming the mask code of the network's address section, e.g. 255.255.255.0
      hinit
      initial quantity of the equipment
      h1yr
quantity of equipment for one year after
      h2yr
quantity of equipment for two years after
      sinit
      initial quantity of sub-nets
      s1yr
quantity of sub-nets for one year after
      s2yr
quantity of sub-nets for two year after
      date
the date to allocate the address (format:YYYYMMDD)

      Explanation by words:
For example, you have got 32 addresses of class C from CNNIC, you have many users with lines for special purpose, and you allocate each user one section of address, then you fill in the cust-network this way:
It is necessary to make clear first the description on the address section you allocate to your customer. Then, it is necessary for you to write out in succession the network's name or unit name of your customer (correctness is needed, phonetic letters are allowed), write out the initial address of this address section, and form the mask code of this address section. Then you are required to give the quantity of equipment with initial connection in your such customer's network, the quantity of equipment to be connected one year after, the quantity of equipment to be connected two years after. After these items are described, it is necessary for you to describe the division conditions of the sub-network for this section of IP made by the customer. You are needed to write out the quantity of network initially set up, the quantity of sub-network for one - year after, and the quantity of sub-network for two years after. At last, it is necessary for you to describe when you allocate this address to this customer.

      Attention:
The item netname you provide is very important. When you assign addresses many times to the network of the same customer, you are certainly needed to ensure that the netname registered each time in APNIC database is identical. Otherwise, APNIC will consider it to be not the same network.
In addition, APNIC and CNNIC consider the total of address for cust-network item and the following infrastructure item as the address already used. Only when this quantity reaches 80 % of the request quantity for the IP addresses in the previous time, can you continue to request the addresses.

      example for cust-network item:
      cust-network: GXXNet 202.12.28.0 255.255.254.0 100/300/520 2/5/9 19980506

initial address: linking conditions of mask INTERNET, the maximum quantity for the use of address, the quantity of equipment initially connected/the quantity of equipment half year after/the quantity of equipment one year after, the description on the concrete equipment in this section of network.

Description for the single item of infrastructure:
address: the initial address for the section of the network.
Attention: to use the actual address for its description.
mask: to form the mask code for the section of the network.
      connect
the conditions to connect this section of network into the Internet. (YES, PART, NO)
      max
the maximum quantity in the use of the address for this section of network.
      hinit
the quantity of equipment initially connected into this section of network
      h6mo
the quantity of equipment connected into the section of network half an year after
      h1yr
the quantity of equipment connected into the section of the network one year after.
      remark
the equipment taking up the IP addresses of this section of network

      Explanation by words:
For example, you have got one section of addresses from CNNIC, with some of them used in your own section of network by you. You should write the infrastructure item this way:
Firstly it is necessary to make clear that one infrastructure item is for the description of one section of network in your own section of network. Then, you are required to write out in succession the initial addresses of your section of network, the mask code to form this section of network, and the conditions to connect to the Internet. Then you are asked to write out the maximum quantity of the usable addresses for the section of network, the equipment quantity initially connected in the network, the quantity of the equipment connected half a year after, and the quantity of the equipment connected one year after. The description of the last section is the most important. You should use this section to describe which equipment take ups the address of this section. It is necessary to give the detailed description of the equipment, including the function of the equipment, producer of the equipment, pattern of the equipment, quantity of port access the equipment, and the strategy on address allocation for the access equipment and so on. All these equipment can be PC, Workstation, Server, Printer, Router, Access Device etc. If the equipment you refer to in the section of Remark is rather special, please use the item of Additional Comments for its description. In addition, it is necessary to describe in this section the concrete point situated in this section of network and the role played by this section of network. (For details, refer to the following sample example)

      Attention:
Don't combine the Infrastructure item actually in several network sections into the Infrastructure item of one network section. It is necessary to fill in this item, strictly in accordance with the actual conditions of the division of the section of network. The section of network for the address of one mainframe should be written out too.(by use of mask code: 255.255. 255.255)

In addition, APNIC and CNNIC consider the total of address for cust-network item and the above-mentioed infrastructure item as the address already used. Only when this quantity reaches 80 % of the request quantity for the IP addresses in the previous time, can you continue to apply the addresses.

      Word description on NETWORK-PLAN:
The filling-in type and requirement for NETWORK-PLAN is basically the same as the filling-in type used in the infrastructure item. However the difference is that the NETWORK-PLAN item not only includes the plan to use the address of your network, but also your planning to develop the customers. The address of your network itself should be inconsistent with the requirement on the infrastructure item. They all should be filled in carefully. But the address plan to develop the customers (the unit to take the address from your unit) should be written in accordance with the sample example.
      Attention:
NETWORK-PLAN will play a very important role in the quantity of addresses you get. Therefore, it is necessary for you to fill in a careful and serious way. It is needed for you to make a careful description on each section of network for your network, and to give the topological structure of the network you has the desire to develop.
